Hi, I’m currently a upcoming Junior this next school year and I have seriously screwed up my grades. My freshemen year I recived 4 Bs and 10 As.(semster) This sophmore year I did 10x worse , taking 2 AP Courses and getting 3Bs and 1 C on it and regular classes where I received 1 C and 1 B. I know I screwed up these two year but I have been depressed these last two years and dealing with social issues.
To break it down:
Freshmen Year Gpa : 3.78 /4.0
Sophmore Year Gpa: 3.28/4.21
I have only a couple of ECs such as CSF,UNICEF, as well as robotics where my team competeted at the world level this year.
Is there any hope of getting into any “good” college for computer science? (what I hope to major in)
Sidenotes: I live in the state of california and hope for an in state college but am open to out of country such as Canada or Out of State.
As and Bs are not “horrible.” Please quit the humblebragging.
Sorry I posted too early.
Keep at it, there are many quality CS programs available to you in CA.
Most CA public schools don’t look at freshman or Sr grades before making an admission decision.
This link will describe how UCs and CSUs calculate your GPA.

Be sure you complete the a-g courses CSUs and UCs prescribe but, also, take classes next year you are confident you’ll do well in. Take the SAT soon, it will help assess the pool of schools you’ll qualify for. Also, get more involved in whatever you consider fun at your school - drama, robotics, mountain biking, whatever floats your boat.
Post again after you have another semester of grades and an SAT under your belt. We’ll be in a much better position to suggest a few CS programs you’ll qualify for.
Good luck
Thank you! I will keep this post updated ever so often.
