Help, Just found out SAT scores, can I do this?

I just found out my SAT scores, I'm a senior, and the m+v went up 110, which for the schools I applied to would help a ton.

Can I have my school counselor looked at my scores online and write them unofficially on my mid year for schools (most of which said they'd take Jan 28th score, but I'm scared they've started reviewing my file) and say official report is also being sent? I mean these scores make a large difference, but I don't want this to look dumb. What do you think Stanford would do? They said they accept testing up until dec. School sends mid year reports this week.

Thanks.

Send them a letter with a copy of your score report. Although unofficial it will get into your file in the admissions office. Also, you can rush report the scores.

I'm in the same boat!
I'm thinking of calling them for notification, faxing them a copy of an online score report, and then just having Collegeboard send it.

Follow-up your letter and score report by having college board rush scores for an additional fee.

Some colleges will not accept rush scores. Colleges normally get the SAT reports thru a normally schedule electronic transfer from CB. Rushed scores go thru the mail. They arrive in their mailroom where they may not be opened for a while and then they have to be entered into the computer. I would check with the specific colleges to see how they feel about rushed scores. They probably work best for smaller colleges.

I just called Dartmouth to ask if they want a fax, s-mail, etc. of my January SAT online score report. She said no, but she sounded like a work-study student person.

I'm still planning to s-mail it later today. I wonder how long it will take for the official score report to arrive.

Dartmouth wont look at it... most colleges say ALL TESTING MUST BE COMPLETED BY THE APPLICATION DATE

I called Dartmouth before hand and they said they would look... Along with all my other schools, but Stanford.

Antarius:

From Dartmouth's website: "All testing must be completed by January of the senior year in high school."

They say all TESTING must be completed by January of senior year. They don't say scores must be sent in and completed by January.

Eddieee,

Remember that test taken in january would have been received by the school by the end of january (probably a little after you received your notification)

Dartmouth is in the process of making decisions as they will be sending out their first wave of likely letters by next weekend for prospective students.

Stanford has already started sending out decisions to select students.

Oh, but the thing is that the January SAT is taken in the end of the month (1/28) unlike other administrations of the SAT. So the scores only came out today. The reason I believed D accepted Jan. scores (aside from my asking them) was their explicit words: "All testing must be completed by January of the senior year in high school." They could've said all testing must be completed by December, which meant the scores would arrive early January. Instead, they said by January indicating that they accept these late scores.

Ah hopefully, I'm not in the Reject Pile or anything already..
