SAT Score Reporting?

Ok, so my friend is retaking the SAT in January, and is sending her scores to a bunch of schools. She's also applying to Amherst, which doesn't accept January scores...is there a way to send them old scores without forcing them to wait for the new scores? (Cause she'd be sending these scores from the test she's registering for, so by default they wouldn't be coming until after Amherst's deadline...)

are you sure
I emailed amherst and they told me that they will accept the january scores

Plenty of schools accept January scores (a lot don't though, Northwestern is notable), but if she wants to send back scores then she just needs to go into her score history and not attach her sending to her next test. Honestly, if she can't figure this out then maybe college isn't for her. You go to My SAT, and you've got Test Registrations up top and My Scores at the bottom. Under that, there's a big huge bar thing that says SEND SCORES TO COLLEGES. She'd uh, you know, use that.

now lets not get mean spirited

There's a giant bar that says send scores to colleges. It's there when you look for your admission ticket, it's there when you try and add schools to the admissions ticket. It's there when you view back scores. It's there when you view the main page that you have you enter your password a second time to get to that leads to the admission ticket and the back scores. I was joking, but seriously, I don't know how you can miss it.

lol
i guess you have a point
lol

Right, but that might extend to the scores you're adding anyways... meaning there'd be a delay in submission.

Plus, how is she to know which schools not to send the new ones to? I think the chance of her substantially improving her score trumps the possibility that scores might not reach some school in time, especially when that school emails students saying they'll accept them anyways.

Don't be an ass, by the way

Oooh, also, by the way...tetrishead, when I tried clicking that "send scores" button, it took me to sending the scores on her registration ticket for January...

Thanks, though, for your help

It wouldn't because it shows you "My Scores" when you click the button, which are the scores that are applicable to what you're going to send.

If she believes that they'll accept it even if they say they don't, then she should send the currents to all of the schools just incase a few refuse to take the January ones, add all the schools to the January admissions ticket, and indicate on the Common App that she's taking a test in January.

It's my party and I'll cry if I want to.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on this one. I have a registration in January, when I clicked send scores from the main My SAT page it showed my test dates from October and November. When I clicked the little "Update Score Recipients" link next to the future registration is when it took me to a copy of the admissions ticket, and it's the only time the January date was listed.

You're welcome :D

Let's see... I don't know how to quote on here exactly

2.) She's already concerned enough about spending money on all of these schools, she's not gonna splurge another 50 just in case
3.) Hm good reasoning
4.) That's when you clicked send scores from the main sat page...that doesn't answer all of the other outstanding examples you cited earlier! i.e. "It's there when you look for your admission ticket, it's there when you try and add schools to the admissions ticket. 5.) yeah

You know what? Screw it.
Merry Christmas

I don't know what you're trying to do with this number thing, it's confusing the hell out of me. Are you like responding to segments of my post or what? I'm just going to pretend we're playing Family Feud and I'm the only one with the buzzer.

Yeah uh, I don't know John. Listen, I'm gonna go with uh... Checking school websites, sending the January scores only to the ones that definitely take January scores, sending scores from back tests and new tests for those that are more vague? Something like that? No? How about Kanye West? Is Kanye West on the board?

Bertrand Russell? No, uh, Whitehead. Alfred, I think. Is he up there? No? Well, I mean, do you seriously expect me to know who created set theory? This is a joke. Futon. I'll go with futon.

A long line of text? A run-on paragraph? Bad diction? Uh... a short story? Is it when you are at the main page and you can click see your scores and it leads you to the main score page where there's the link? Is it when you look for your admission ticket because when you look for your admission ticket you go to the main page with the link? Is it on most pages because you have the link to your organizer and in your organizer there is a link to My SAT scores and also to scores sent to colleges that take you to the page with the link? Is it there when you view back scores because the link is what leads you to the back scores that you're sending? No? It's none of these things? Can I pass and send it to the other family?
