HELP!! Just Peabody or arts and sciences too!?

OK I’m so confused!!! I just started my app online, regular decision, for Vandy…and I want to maximize my chances to get in. I really want to actually eventually major in HOD and economics with some psych thrown in along the way. However, HOD is such a popular major, and I want to stand out. So, I was told that its easier to get into Peabody than A&S…if this is true then…

Is it easy, once accepted, to transfer into A&S too for my double major?

Is it easy to change my major from child development to HOD once in?

On the app, do I put Arts and Sciences (A&S) as I want to be considered for it as an alternate school, or just keep peabody as my #1 and only?

HELP!!
Thanks!

A&S has the lower acceptance rate. I don't think it is that hard to transfer between schools.

Well, if you are accepted to either school and are having a major in that school, then you can actually double major without even having to transfer. For instance, if I wanted to do mechanical engineering (i am in the engineering school) and economics, then I just stay in engineering and major in both.

Once you are into any school, you can change your major by simply going to the dean of students for your school and simply telling them "i want to change my major from x to y". Then they put it in the computer. It takes all of 5 minutes.

I would leave Peabody as your first choice and then put A&S as your second. It increases your chances in the sense that if you don't get into peabody, you still have a shot with A&S. Plus, since you want to do a dual major with each major in a different school, it won't matter which one you get accepted to. So definitely mark down both.

However, if you get into one school and decide that you want to do a single major in another Vandy school, the transfer isn't difficult. It is filling out a single sheet of paper. The only downside: you have to wait to do so until after you have completed your freshmen year.

Hope that helps. If you have any more questions, shoot me a PM.
