I got a 740 on my math ii :( sob and I'm really scared that it's not high enough to get into the colleges I'm applying to since I'm planning on applying to 1 or 2 ivies, u chicago, georgetown, and others

However, I do not plan on majoring in science/math/etc so I was wondering if this score is okay? Or should I retake it in October (which I really dont want to ><...I mean who does?)

For those schools that score could hurt you. So I would recommend either retaking it or taking new subjects and just not sending that one. The math 2 is extremely curved, and most other tests a 740 would be really good but on the math 2 it’s only 67th percentile which is the same percentile as a 640 on the math 1.

Retake. Most people applying to Ivies get 800s on Math II, so you have room to improve your score. Also, many colleges require that you send in Math II as one of your subject test scores. Try the Barrons book. It’s difficult, but if you can master it, you can get your 800.

Yeah I got a 730, so hey at least you beat me! If you can retake it, go for it. I’m unsure if I will or not - logic tells me I should because of the high curve, but I used the barrons book to prepare for this one and it didn’t turn out as I was hoping. Of course I wasn’t getting 800s on the barrons tests, but the low 700s that I was getting were supposed to be an equivalent to the real thing. Oh well, at least it’s over [for] now.

I’m retaking in October for the 800 as well. We have ~3 months to prep for it so it shouldn’t be so hard.
