I studied with the Barrons book for May and got a 770. I had taken the first official test a couple days before and got a 760. I've been getting help for math frequently since the May test since I knew I did badly. Today i took the 2nd official test and got a 730! Is there any chance of me getting an 800? I don't want my score to go down either.

Where’d you get a second official test?

But regardless, look back at your mistakes. Were they careless? Were they the result of actually not knowing how to solve them?
If your mistakes fall into the former’s category, I would review your practice tests, maybe take one more, and take Math II this Saturday. If it’s the latter, perhaps it’s a matter of brushing up on old concepts or simply needing a massive math overhaul.

Besides, a 770 isn’t something to retake unless you plan on applying for a STEM program.

I got the second official test from the separate CB book for math subject tests.

Some of my mistakes are careless, but other times I just can’t figure out the problem because I can’t think “out of the box.” Also, I’ve never been taught vectors, z scores, among other things…

I want to major in biology (specifically, get into a bs/md program) and 770 is only the 79th percentile (colleges of course wont know the percentile but it still scares me that almost everybody will have 800s when applying to those programs)

Those tests aren’t the same? I had the big blue book for subject tests and the CB history book last year, and both World History tests were the same. I should look into this…

Regardless, how were you able to get a 770 before then? I’d honestly suggest looking into taking the test in October if you’re that unsure.

I was getting around 700s on the practice tests, and the actual test was a lot easier. I believed I used Barons, but I can’t be sure. I ended up getting an 800, so you should be fine as well. Just keep studying!

^You were getting around 700s on the official prac. tests, or the Barrons?

@Honorlions CB has a special book for the math subject tests, apart from their general book. The general book has one math II test, from the May 2002 administration. The specific book has two, the May 2002 and something else.
