Help me appease my parents

Can anyone give me stats on Northwestern's career placement, especially in ibanking/ management consultancy. My parents want to know about the money before they pay the money.

Stats is not my stront point...but...my brother is President of one of the largest world-wide headhunting firms that specializes in CEO/CFO's said a degree from Northwestern is worth the money and more. He said they have the academic acumen as well as strong internship programs that make NU stand out from their competition. There is heavy recruitment at NU by IB firms. I hope this helps.

what ib's? Only ones in chicago?

I'm trying to decide between Notre Dame and Northwestern and looking for career stats to differentiate the two. Anyways, I appreciate the info APOL. Thank you very much.

IBs-International Banking

OP,

NU has not been very good at keeping track of where students go after graduation. They have some sort of survey outcome but the response rate has been low and it's difficult to get a clear picture. The general consensus is NU is one of the targets for most, if not all, elite ib/mc firms.

Did you apply for MMSS?
Current Recruiters, Current Students, MMSS, Weinberg College of Arts & Sciences, Northwestern University shows a list of recruiters of MMSS students in the winter quarter. Click the link at the bottom of the page for a list of internships MMSS students had in the last few years.

they don't really have stats for that. Companies that recruit on campus (ie hold interviews in an on-campus building as well as present at career fairs, lecture halls, etc):

JPM (they take northwestern students after only first-round interviews bc they have had such high success with them)
MER
GS
LEH
MS
DB
C
UBS
MacQuarie
Royal Bank of Scotland
Baird (regional)
Blair (regional)

is that enough for them?

In addition to that, the MC firms that do the same are:

Bain
McKinsey
BCG
Mercer
Monitor
Accenture
Deloitte and Touche
LEK

probably more that i'm forgetting, I'm not very big into MC.

although i hope your parents aren't pushing you into ib/mc, it's hyper competitive and seems like it would add much stress to a kid who is only in high school if their parents already expected them to be working at a bulge bracket firm when they graduated
