Help me build my college list!

I’ll be applying for colleges later this year and need help making my college list based on what I want and what I’ll major in.

GPA: 3.4 (maybe 3.5, depends on AP grades)
NEW SAT: 1310 (630 Math, 680 Reading/Writing, 6 on essay)
ACT: 28 (17 writing oops)
AP’s (Including senior year): APUSH, AP Chem, AP Calc AB, AP Calc BC, AP Bio, AP French, AP Lit
HONORS: Honors English 9, Honors Bio, Honors Chem, Honors English 10, Honors English 11
STATE OF RESIDENCY: Michigan
PLANNED MAJOR: Molecular Biology/Genetics

I’m planning on staying in Michigan, but also thinking about going down south.

So far, my list is:
University of Michigan (reach)
Michigan State University (match?)
Michigan Technological University (match?)

What can your family afford?

@newjerseygirl98 I’d like to keep it under $40k a year
My family isn’t eligible for financial aid because my parents make too much if that tells you anything,

Your in-state options are great! If you aren’t set on going out-of-state, I’d save the money.

Your scores are just above the 50% mark for Michigan Tech in SAT Math and ACT. I’d say it is a match. I think your odds at UM are honestly very low.

You need a safety, though. Someplace where your stats are on the higher end and you know you can afford it.

@intparent GVSU/Eastern Mich/Central Mich would be safties, but I honestly don’t want to those lol

Does Michigan have any relationships with other states where then offer kids from those states in state tuition. I know Minnesota and Wisconsin do. In the south we have the Academic Common Market although NC dropped out. If they have something it would give you some other options.
