Hello, CC. I’ve decided to make an account to ask for help on how I can solve my procrastination.
Daily Schedule of what I do afterschool:
3:30-3:40 - Arrive back from school
3:30-3:40 - 5:00 - Relax
5:00 - 6:00 (Usually 6:00 - 7:00 since I’m a lazy guy) - Exercise
Then finally 6-7:00 - 12-1 - Homework.
I usually get to sleep around 12, but most likely around 2-4, only to wake up at 6.
I’m a sophomore right now and I’m taking one AP class and 2 Honors, and while I am keeping my grades up in all of my classes and doing decent extracurriculars, I am still exhausted everyday and depressed (which contributes to my procrastination). Please help CC! I need to change myself or I might just be screwed for the future.
EDIT: Also any tips on how I can complete HW faster would also be appreciated as I am a relatively slow learner so my productivity is also affected. Or it can just be Youtube that’s trying to torture me.
Turn off your phone.
Turn off the TV.
Turn of the internet on your PC.
I would highly recommend the book by Cal Newport: “How To Become a Straight-A Student:
The Unconventional Strategies Real College Students Use to Score High While Studying Less”
It will help you with time management and how to be more efficient.
Going to sleep at 4 and waking up at 6 will turn you into a zombie. You will need to have at least 6 hours of sleep every night. So I would make sure lights off at midnight for most nights, and maybe little later on pre exam nights. I have my son check in his phone in the kitchen whenever he comes home, so it wouldn’t disturb him while studying, with all the social media notification going off every 2 seconds. He can at anytime use the phone when he goes to the kitchen for snacks or water. But the most essential part of studying is being well rested as well as not to be distracted. If you go to bed at 12 but spend the next 2 to 4 hours watching video on your phone in bed, you just ruined your whole next day.
