help me choose schools?

Hey, I'm currently a rising junior, but I'm so indecisive and unknowledgable about the college process.

Could you suggest some colleges for me?
I'm looking for

*large college,
*next to a big city
*Along the west or east coast
*more towards liberal views
*very diverse
*people feel very school spirited and connected
*few drugs/drinking
*good food

I'm looking for good safeties and match schools. Probably good match/reach would be lower ivies, top 25, and top public schools

Stanford, UCLA, UC Berkely, USC, U Chicago, U Mich, U WI, Rice, Harvard, MIT, Boston U, Carnegie Mellon, U PA, Columbia, NYU, Georgetown. they don't all fit all your qualities, but they are all good schools, worth looking into.

UCLA has all of that: ~30,000 undergrads, Los Angeles (you'll need a car), SoCal near the beaches, primarily liberal, highly diverse, Bruin basketball + track and field, very little drugs, top-ranked dining hall food.

UC Berkeley has most of that: 25,000 undergrads, San Francisco (if you're willing to travel), NorCal, notoriously liberal history, very diverse, tons of football fans, some drugs, mediocre dining hall food (or so I've heard, never tasted it myself).

Tufts seems to fit the majority of your list minus the big school and school spirit :) But the food IS tasty (one of the best in the nation). Was one of my biggest perks for matriculating there.

two that i forgot - Johns Hopkins, Northwestern

You might also want to consider Brandeis where my S is headed. I can'y vouch for the food, except at "The Stein" which is a restaurant-style eatery there, part of the dining services.

Northeastern!!!(i;m starting there in spetember). It has great food, very diverse, liberal, in boston aka college town of america (due to the concentration of so many coleges like BU, BC, Simmons, Emmanuel, Wentworth, Harvard, MIT etc.). If ur looking 4 a school with only a little bit of drinking then i dont know what 2 tell u becasue northeastern has about 14,000 undergrads and i cant say that they are all sober all the time. maybe the friends u make in college dont drink or do drugs. College life is what u make od it.

George Washington is just like Northeastern except that its in DC. Most kids apply to both schools because they ar so similar and GWU is a little more generous with financial aid (i bugged Northeastern for $4,000 more).

If u really dont want a huge drug scene then dont look at NYU at all because the stats from the last 3 yrs show that out os 15,000 undergrads there were 2,000 drug related incidents. thats a lot for a school that size (northeastern had 850 and university of maryland with 50,000 undergrads had 2,000). NYU has a lot of cocaine addicted students.

Boston U, Rutgers(New Brunswick)
