I hope to major in some form of engineering/math (obviously). Of the list of schools below (already accepted), which wouold be better for my degree, graduate school, and occupation?

Cornell University (School of Engineering)
University of Notre Dame
Johns Hopkins University (Whiting School of Engineering)

Please take name recognition into account when you make your recommendations.

If you are already admitted to these three schools why ask your question now? Aren’t you supposed to be showing up at one of them in the next month or so? I don’t see how you could already be accepted to ND for any class other than 2013.

Are you a transfer student? If you are a first year freshman, how is it that you didn’t have to make a commitment to ONE of these schools by May 1st?

After my medical disqualification on June 29, 2009, from West Point, I contacted all the schools I applied to during my senior year, but all of the institutions were oversubscribed and could not take me for the Class of 2013. (I applied to lots of competitive schools.) As a result of these circumstances, JHU extended an offer of admission for the Class of 2014 (I would be essentially taking a gap year.). Or Notre Dame and Cornell indicated that I could take my freshman year at another university and then the institution would transfer my file once I’m a sophmore.

I wouldn’t say “easily.” Johns Hopkins has a VERY good engineering school in certain areas. It is particularly good at the thermal fluid sciences. Overall, Cornell’s is definitely better though. Notre Dame doesn’t really compare to either of them.
