<p>the rep of the undergrad dept isn't that critical; all of these schools are going to be decent, and to do professional work as a psychologist you need at least a MA anyway. So it comes down to college environment, as mladyd says. The CSU schools are commuter schools and won't have as much of a college atmosphere as schools where everyone lives around campus. I don't know about USF, but SCU has a college feel to it from what friends who went there say. It is also church affiliated, so you'll have a quite different experience than at UCSC which is probably the most liberal of the UCs (and you'll feel uncomfortable there if you're not quite liberal; "accepting" means accepting any leftist philosophy, but they are quite hostile to anyone not espousing those views). Class size is going to differ at the schools too, as is whether you get an assigned advisor or any personal attention.</p>
