Hey guys,
I am going to be taking probably four subject tests (is this too many? I could most likely cut back) either later this school year or early next school year (I am a junior now). As of now, I am going to take:
Math II,
US History,
Spanish,
and a science.
However, I need some kind of science subject test as well, which poses a problem. I have only taken AP Physics: Mech this year, and the physics subject test covers mech and e/m topics which I haven't learned. Also, I probably can't take bio or chem this year either since I took both courses last year. Therefore, I would need to decide on one and then study it over the summer to be prepared to take the test in the fall. Can somebody offer guidance as to which science test I should take? Help is appreciated!

Since you already took part of physics, take the physics subject test.

If you’re good at memorizing (unlike me) take Bio(: Otherwise take Physics (it has a nice curve).

Buy the Official Collegeboard SAT Subject Test Book, take all three sciences and see how you do. A lot of the Biology is common sense (I.e. reading graphs, evolution, etc.), but it is tricky at times, chem was pretty easy (some advanced chemistry stuff such as acid base, electrochem, etc.) and I can’t say how Physics is as I didn’t not consider taking it. Do whichever you feel most prepared for; the official practice tests are pretty realistic to the real test.

Thanks guys! I am just hesitant on taking the physics test since I will only have learned half the material in class… Is it still possible? Also, between bio and chem, which one is more feasible to take?

^If you like math, then Chem. IMO it seems pretty easy and I haven’t learned all the ap chem material yet~

Take physics; the curve is pretty generous. Don’t just study mechanics; study some basic relativity, thermodynamics, and electricity/magnetism.

I am looking for advice for my daughter as to what class she needs to take BEFORE she takes the SAT Subject Test for:
Literature (she is scheduled for AP Lang/ Comp in her junior year and AP Lit her senior year)…but she needs to take the Subj Tests after her junior year to apply ED.

Chem (her school only has Chem SL and not AP Chem)

Math 2 (can she take if after PreCal H or is it a must that she take it after AP Calc AB?

Thank you to whoever will give us advice!

HooRahMom2020

HooRah, most kids take Math 2 after precalc as there are no calculus problems on the test.

I took the Bio M last month after taking AP Bio for one semester and I had no problem with the materials that I did not learn yet in class that were on the SAT II test. Then again, Bio M is more memorization, so that might have helped. I would still take the SAT II Physics exam if I were you.

Best of luck!

HooRah, no offense, but get your own thread.
