I am a senior in high school and am trying to decide which college to attend. I want to major in biology, and eventually continue on to med school. I am deciding between University of Delaware, Penn State, and University of Pittsburgh. All are great schools, but I want someone else's opinion. Everyone I seem to ask has some sort of bias.

You can get to med school from any college. Cost needs to be considered as you will need funds for med school. Obviously, that suggests going in-state. Other than that, I would go with the school where I feel most comfortable. How far do you want to go? For example, if you live in Southeast PA and want to be close to home, then Delaware might be the ticket. If you haven’t visited the schools, make sure you do.

I like Pitt a great deal, but my D goes there so I guess that makes me biased. If you want to know more about it, let me know.

If you are in-state, Penn State and Pitt make greater economic sense. Pittsburgh is a lively city with an active cultural scene that you won’t find in Newark or State College. Newark, DE, is pretty accessible to DC, Philly, and the coast, though. There are some very loyal Penn State fans out there, but I think it’s in the middle of nowhere.
