Help me decorate this corner on my counter in my dining area

The consignment shops near my mom in Florida have lots of pretty things for not much money.

Okay, people. I am really liking @mominva ’s idea of doing some sort of colored piece of glass up on the top shelf. The top photo is my, “after” where I have removed that chambered Nautilus shell and cross and spread out the glassware to make a “hole,” in the center. The bottom photo is the, “before.” Honestly, just removing those two non-glass pieces has helped I think. Even if I scrunched all the glass back together. Opposite the decanters is the digital photo frame ds bought us for Christmas.

I’m thinking an 18” or so round piece in my lime/kiwi color would look great there. Then do two something or others (plants/succulents) to cover the outlets on the counter (which are now driving me :bat: :poop: crazy every time I look at them :joy:) and then maybe some sort of vessel on my table either filled with limes or various sized glass balls also the lime/kiwi green. What do y’all think?

Perfect!

This isn’t the original link, it is similar and includes the green you mentioned.
Hope this link works:

Yes to Dale Tiffany - I think a lot of his pieces would fit the ask here.

I respectfully disagree on a tall, thin vase. The blank area of the counter is too vast for something skinny. I would go with something longer like some of the suggestions above, as well as volume. @Hoggirl, why that corner? I think farther down towards the bar area, maybe 2/3 of the way down would be good, I don’t like things perfectly centered.

I was the one who originally suggested that corner. The feedback received here has led me to reconsider that. I’ve also honed in on covering those outlets up somehow. Lol. It’s such a looooong counter - ten feet. Two thirds of the way down toward the bar would cover one of the outlets.

I would put something slightly asymmetrical in that center of the top shelf to balance out the symmetry of the rest of the arrangement.

Great idea!! Definitely need larger scale than the one you linked, however. Asymmetry is certainly something to keep in mind as I look.

Ran into these and wondered if they would work in front of the outlets.

This is just for fun but if you win the lottery…

If it were me, hiding the outlets would become a competing interest with having a clear counter (and every time you wanted to dust/wipe, there would be two decorations to pick up…). I’d be looking for something long, thin, and low that spanned the two outlets (or the whole counter length) and could be pushed right back against them, and then could be pulled forward a few inches when you need the outlet. It would stay behind whatever chafing dishes or crockpots you use when serving guests. Like a long bar of colored glass or some other material you like to look at (in my house I’ve used wooden beams for this, from the hardware store or pieces of baseboard or banister that the builders left behind). But I’m a modernist who likes straight lines and unadorned materials so it might not be the right solution for you. One other thought is if you’re putting something decorative on the counters to hide the outlets, it could plug in as well (since colored glass is high on everyone’s list, backlighting might be nice…)

This one is my favorite so far. It could be anywhere on that counter and would look great. In front of the window where the light shines through…but I’m guessing the price is high.

I’m getting all sorts of Ads now from Wayfair. Check that site out.

I love that sculpture or whatever you call it.
Unfortunately, I can picture my cats having great fun knocking it over, so it won’t be coming to live in my house.

How about the moving the new picture frame to front of one of the outlets?

I had it there originally, but it just looked, “off.” And honestly was dwarfed by the the length of the counter.

What about something like this under the windows and in front of the outlets?? It’s only 5” deep.

Spendier than I might like, but now I am on a quest! Ha ha!

Google Heller Gallery in NY. There are some amazing glass artists.

If one box blocks both outlets it’s probably worth the $$ if it takes 2 boxes then yeah I’d be wondering at being close to a grand for the solution…

I had thought of something like this but being you like your counters bare, I thought a 4 foot item might not be to your liking! It would not address your corner…do you think you just want SOMETHING in some part of that 10 foot counter to add interest???

Do you often serve a buffet on this counter that you would need to move the arrangement? (even though it’s only 5 inches deep I’m thinking about food spills, etc. on it)

A bowl for the table; it comes in green.

For the long counter, perhaps something in wood. It would cover the outlets and warm up the area without seeming intrusive. This is a souvenir from a long ago vacation (not a tchotchke):
