is rolling bad though this late? cause i know at least with mich state and quinnipiac its best to apply early casue your probably will get rejected if you dont but for ohio and loyola chicago is it different or the same?

Well Loyola Chicago has a free app and it takes like 2 secs to fill out, so I suggest that you submit it like right now lol. Also, they only got 1 student from VA last year http://www.luc.edu/undergrad/academics/factsheets/facts_at_a_glance.pdf so I think that you have a nice shot. If you get rejected then all you did was lose the money it took to send your test scores. And I got in with a 3.11 UW GPA and a 1230/1780 SAT

Dude, you could apply to Eckerd. I don't know what you are majoring, but their rolling app date is in June, and they are practically ON the beach in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Totally don't feel like being rejected but my stats aren't too bad I don't think. 1140/1800 and 26 ACT isn't thaaatt far off from yours I don't think. Stressing way too much about this. I have the app filled out and all that it's basically done just wanted to look over it first.

Modo822,
I would try Gettysburg and see what happens.... The history program is top notch, good parties, and you might have a shot... "might."

You aren't really looking South, I know, but there are some decent, fairly non-selective LAC's in Tennessee. King College, Carson-Newman College, and Tusculum College are around, and while they aren't very large, they aren't expensive for private schools. Just don't expect the world of the campuses. $29,000,000 endowments aren't exactly spectacular.

I think I'm really just avoiding Virginia when it comes down to it. Which is pretty stupid since we have really good schools, I just despite it here. So looking into schools in Tennessee doesn't sound too bad to me. Thanks.

Any more?

Ummmm, Berry College in Georgia has GREAT science facilities and a gorgeous. 26,000 acre campus. You unfortunately are going to be in a really crappy dorm. But the campus is 63% women. If you are a dude, then it doesn't get much better than that.

Mercer is a great Georgia school, but you have to be careful. The farther south you go, the farther you go into Super Jesus territory. I love the savior too, but Bible thumping isn't my style, and you'll want to be wary if you are something any more extreme than Lutheran or Episcopalian (sp). I tell people I'm Presbyterian, and then they ask me if I've accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.

That didn't happen at a college by the way, just in the South in general.

As far as colleges, Belmont is a wonderful school in Nashville, Rhodes is in Memphis (though more selective), Sewanee is in Sewanee, TN, though the middle of nowhere. Then you have Mercer, Oglethorpe, and Berry College in Georgia. Alabama has Birmingham Southern, which is pretty good, and Mississippi has Millsaps, a very good school from what I've heard. Furman is in South Carolina, and is quite a lovely school, but you'll want a car on campus. The Kentucky has Centre College, which is a really nice school, though my tour seemed snoody. I think it was just the day though, since it was raining non stop.

I can't think of anymore. If you PM I'll give you my Facebook stuff and we can chat.

Tusculum offered me $10K per year (lil more than 1/2 tuition) with a 3.4 and a 1310/1600, so they aren't that bad with aid.

Bump bump bump

Why don't you try an online college matching service like myusearch.com or petersons.com. you can put in all of your criteria and it will tell you which schools match your profile. Or College Confidential also has a college search tool as well.

And if you are still looking into Michigan, try Albion. Super small, but a great school and any school in MI has tons of parties.
