Help me narrow my song list please?

I feel like I'm very behind on this but I am just now picking out my songs and I was hoping I could get some opinions if any of these need to be cut out of my list for any reason.

"A Little Brains, A Little Talent" from Damn Yankees
"I'm Free at Last" from Chez Garbo
"Spring Fever" from Life Begins at 8:40
"Louisiana Purchase" from Louisiana Purchase
"One Hundred Easy Ways" from Wonderful Town
"A Little Bit of Love" from Wonderful Town
"Every Time" from Best Foot Foward
"Will He Like Me?" from She Loves Me
"A Trip to the Library" from She Loves Me

I am working my way through my AA degree right now so I haven't had the time or money to see a lot of shows so I found most of these though a list of composers and their shows on Wikipedia. I've done a little research on each show and listened to samples of each song. If any of these is overdone or shouldn't be chosen for any reason, I'd rather not waste my time on researching them more.

Thank you for your help!

I have a son so not much help on these. Typically you need a classic and a contemporary piece for auditions, I know She Loves Me and Damn Yankees are classic but the others I don’t really recognize. Are any of those more recent?

Do any of these songs fit YOUR personality? Do they show off who you are and what your voice can do “effortlessly”? Like MTMajorCook, I have a son. The only song on your list I am familiar with is “Little Brains”. I’m not sure I would want to use that particular song to show off “who I am” - UNLESS I could do the best damn job of it anyone has ever seen. And it’s often sung with an accent - which is a no no for college auditions.

As mom4bwayboy says- you need to think about songs that express who you are. Things that convey emotions experiences closer to what you have experienced are more likely to ring true in monologues and songs. Just a thought

Also, songs from characters that you could actually play right now. Do not pick songs from characters significantly older than yourself.

Thanks everyone! Mostly I just wanted to make sure none of these were more overdone than I thought before I did any more research into them. My voice teacher wants me to do “Til there was You” from the Music Man. @MTmom2015 I have a question about age range actually. I am 26 but I look closer to 17 or 18. Should I go for a character that matches my actual age and experiences, rather than what I look like?

My daughter is 19, and recently played Mary in “The Secret Garden”… I’d go with what you could play. If you can pull off older, go for it. If you are better younger, use it. If it is believable. Just no Mama from Gypsy, etc. My son can sing the heck out of ‘Sit Down You’re Rocking the Boat’, but he’s 20 yrs and about 100 lbs off! LOL…

I think story songs like A Trip to the Library are very difficult to convey in a 32 bar cut. Great song but hard for auditions.
