I'm auditioning next year and I've been in the process of looking up songs I have two

I'll Be Here-The Wild Party

Do I Love You Because You're Beautiful-Cinderella

Are these good selections?

Cinderella is currently on Broadway… so that would be breaking the “Broadway Rule”…

Wow! Gosh okay thanks but what about the other song?

I think “I’ll Be Here” would be a great choice! I doubt that it is done as much as some other songs! Good luck!

Also I was wondering is “If I Cant Love Her” from Beauty and The Beast appropriate ?

I’ll Be Here is great, it’s one of the songs I auditioned with a while ago and I haven’t heard of anyone else using it.

I think “If I Can’t Love Her” would be a good song to have in your folder in case a school asks for a Disney song, which they do occasionally, but unless you can really hit it out of the park, I would refrain from making it one of your main songs.

You’re a Baritone, I guess? If you really want Disney, I don’t think I’ve heard of anyone else singing “Her Voice” from the Little Mermaid. Also, there’s plenty of songs for baritones in Edges and most Kander & Ebb musicals.

Okay I have new song choices!

KITE You’re a good man Charlie Brown

WHAT DO YOU DO WITH A BA IN ENGLISH Avenue Q

What do you guys think?

Anyone has feedback?

A lot depends on your particular talent, which is what you want to showcase. If you have a great range, even when you’re nervous, you want them to hear that. If you have gorgeous low tones, show them off.

Apart from advising you about what is overdone, there isn’t much we can help with here.
