Help me out if you'd like

Greetings,

I find it really amusing that I'm about to submit my "stats," (which almost everyone here thinks gives a full representation of him/herself) yet I had to ask a friend to show me out to post a new thread. So before you get the predilection that I'm a total moron, let me tell you some stuff that'll make you think you aren't an idiot for reading and / or responding (the latter being very auspicious).

I'm brown (actually I have a sick tan line on my upper arms because I guess I was previously white, but its going away because I vowed to get huge this summer for the ladies) & Muslim (if that matters) and have just finished my junior year. I like to think I'm Pacific Islander but I guess being from a country bordering India doesn’t count. Oh yeah, I'm a 17 yr. old guy.

If you're still reading, you must really like me because if I were reading 2 paragraphs of information about some stranger, I'd want to reevaluate living.

So for all of you who just want to see the numbers...

1/~300 at a competitive Midwestern public school

All A's or A+'s because I'm sweet like that (weighted g.p.a 4.9 or something on a 5.0 scale - electives aren’t weighted so I guess you can’t get a 5)

SAT: 2210 (M: 800 V: 710 W: 700 essay 11)

Classes that I've taken that I think matter: AP Bio, AP Chem., AP Calc AB but took the BC test.

Next year: AP Gov, AP Euro, AP Eng, AP French, AP Physics B

E.C's: National Honors Society, National Arts Honors Society, Class Treasurer since my frosh year, Student Council rep since frosh year, French club, Key club (I chaired some stuff like Ronald McDonald house), Academic Challenge Secretary, 2 yr JV & 1 yr. Varsity Tennis, and Project Support (hahaha if ANYONE knows what that organization is...I want to be your friend).

For this summer, I got this sweet internship at the Cleveland Clinic in the cardiology dept (I want to be a brain/heart surgeon so that’s sweet). As you may have inferred, I want to go into Medicine and possibly enter college through a pre-med program. I'm really open as to where I should apply (and most likely get rejected), so if you have some suggestions that would be appreciated.

Well thanks for reading all of that or for just reading my "stats." Hopefully you'll respond and it'll be sweet.

Your SAt would make you a good bet at your flagship state school.

Johns Hopkins BME will reject you most probably, because you aren't an academic machine, but you would hazard a chance at Chicago, Cornell, Northwestern, Georgetown..

What do you mean not academic machine? 1/300 and 4.9/5?? cmon...his stats are definately stellar and you have already done a great internship in medicine.

I would say you have a great shot at any combined med program.

i'd chance a uchicago EA. probably the best choice.

for JHU BME, you have to have crazy SAT's.

it's the most competitive program in the country to get into.

Hey thanks guys for the input.

Someone from my school got into JHU and she wasnt that smart. She didnt break 1450 on her SAT but she was second in her class but with a lot of extracurrics. As you said with the academic machine, one asian kid last year fit your description and got in (he got a 1580 on his SAT and retook it to get a perfect, but he didnt so he took the ACT and aced that).

Also, does U of Chicago have a medical school? Two kids from this years graduating class from my school got in without EA. I still have to take my SATIIs in bio chem and math IIC (750+ hopefully).
