Well Cal Poly does have a good business program, but ultimately you should chose the school not only based on which has the best program, but also where you feel the best. Don’t get me wrong, you should pick a school with a strong program, but if you end up going to a school you don’t really love, you probably won’t be happy and won’t have as good of a time as you could.

I agree with @NTKS17
Go to the school you like the best, the school in which you’ll learn better and have fun at the same time. Plus, it doesnt matter where you go for undergrads… its all about grad school if you’re planning to get a MS or Ph.D.
Hope this helped.

Keep in mind that at SDSU it is really hard to get the classes you need because the school itself is impacted. It often takes kids five years to graduate due to the inability to get the classes they need.

If it is between those two schools (CP and SDSU) I would choose CP. It is moving up in ranks for business and it was harder to get into. It is a smaller school, which may be good or bad. Most people see CP as the better school. I don’t know much about the business admin. program. I hope you find some people who do. Both areas are beautiful. SD would have more to do.

Santa Clara is an excellent school…but pricey and UCSB would be a similar feel to CP. Not sure which program is better. UCSB must be very good as well.
Good luck with your choice!

I don’t know much about the business programs anywhere,
but I know a little bit about the atmosphere at Santa Clara.
My brother went there, and for him it was the wrong choice. It turned out to be very clique-y, and apparently it’s like what I’ve heard about San Diego being materialistic.
Also, I’m pretty sure Cal Poly and UCSB have more laid back feels to them.
I don’t know much more than that.
Good luck!

Just as a counterpoint, my niece went to Santa Clara and loved it so much she now works in the Athletic Dept. doing fund raising while she goes for her MBA. That said, the school has become very expensive.

If you think that you may want to live in the Bay Area, then Santa Clara would be a very good choice, as the Santa Clara network is very strong.

I’m also admitted to CP for Business Administration and I have committed there. CP is ranked 64th in the nation for business majors, so that is obviously very good.

UCSB does not have a business major specifically, so if you are set on going into that major it might be better to choose another option.

Santa Clara’s biggest objection is the cost since it is a private school, and I don’t know much about SDSU.

Congrats on making your decision!!! My son is going to CP for engineering and he had a choice of 3 UCs and a private school. It is a great school with a nice feel to it and a beautiful location. It’s reputation is excellent too!

Start planning on going to Open House if you can!
