I am a sophomore and taking AP Biology. I have a terrible grade in that class and I find it really difficult. I am wondering that if I switch out of the class after the end of 1st semester, then will it affect my applications and admissions? I talked to my counselor already and it is possible to switch into a different class. I need some advice ASAP.

How terrible is your grade? What will the dropped class look like on your transcript?

Taking AP Bio as a sophomore? Props to you man.

there are so many soph. taking it too! I just get killed by tests.

^ study , brute force meming style

wow…at our school only juniors and seniors are allowed to take AP Bio

Switch out unless you plan on applying to some top tier school. Otherwise, drop it and explain why on you college application

I have a question. Can we take the AP exam without being registered in high school?

@cakane7 I am infering that you are homeschooled? if not sorry, but heres a link - [AP Exams - For Homeschooled Students](Homeschooled, Independent Study, and Virtual School Students and Students from Other Schools – AP Central | College Board)

@cakane7 Yes, you can do so. Go take it at a local high school.

i am also taking AP Bio and im a sophomore. i was also wondering if i got a c and if i raise it to an A would that look better since i would improve

It all depends on how your school reports grades. My school just puts in final grades and not the semester’s grades individually. In that case, you cannot show improvement but a B in AP Bio as a sophomore is still pretty impressive.
