help me please

hey, so im a sophomore in high school, and my grades have been suffering lately because i was alway sick and so tired. i just found out it was because im anemic, so i was often tired and feeling like i would pass out. So now i am taking extra iron yadda yadda and it SHOULD help. If i explained this to colleges woudl it be excepted as a reason for grade drop? ive been missing like 4-5 days a month of school. Thanks for reading this.

As long as you don't have anything below a C, you should be okay. This is a perfectly legitimate reason as to why you were doing poorly. This kind of info would go in that "Anything additional you think we should know?" blank. Attach a doctor's letter if possible so that they know it's legit. Just work hard the rest of the year and next year and you should be in decent shape. The exception, of course, is if you have your sights set on a Top 30 school. They're generally not very forgiving.

yeah, just try to keep your grades up for the rest of your time in high school and show your teachers you're working hard (don't hesitate to ask help from them, too). that way, adcoms will know that even with your condition, you're still able to excel academically.

hmmm. I am anemic as well, and I also had potasium issues

I became anemic as did my mom by our food intake- are you on a diet? this is a serious question, because if you are on one that is serious enough to cause anemia, there are other issues, you need to think about- i was doing the vegitarian thing and not balancing my food properly, and my mom was depressed so not eating correctly either

Taking iron is all fine and dandy, but there is more to it than that if you have anemia- so do some research

And if you be the female type, you know what I mean, then you need to be extra vigilant

I

Make sure that it's not just you sending a note to colleges- it needs to come from an 'uninterested third party' such as a guidance counselor. It's more believeable then. Like SJ said, a doctor's note would be good too.

My mom and I are both anemic too! Dark green veggies help, apparently. Fall in love with green beans.
