I am a male junior. i am wondering if i could be able to be accepted into west point. i have a 3.8 gpa out of a 4.3 scale. i am junior class president. im a officer on Key Club. im in national honor society too. this past summer i volunteered at the children's zoo here in town for a two week session and volunteered at some events at the zoo as well. I played soccer my freshman year. and i have played baseball all my life. i am 5'11, 155 lbs. i dont have hardly any upper body strength but i can do a ton of sit ups. im pretty sure i can run a two mile in under 13 minutes. ive taken a few practice SAT tests and i know i can do better. i also took the asvab and scored a 78 on it. i also just applied for the SLS too in hopes that i get accepted. Please help me on what i should do so i can get accepted to West Point. Thanks.

I would have to say that your grades are pretty low. I have a friend that just got in there with a 4.8/5.0 gpa, and 2350 on the SATs. He is also all-state in distance running. My best advice is this: first off, get into better physical shape. Keep working on your running time, and build better upper body strength. Obviously being in good physical shape is very important if you want to get into West Point. Also, keep up your grades for the rest of Junior year. How did you do on the practice SAT tests? Those mean a lot as well. It’s still early for you, and you still have time to get your stats up, so keep on trudging along and see what happens :D

thanks for the advice. on the practice tests i havent done as well as i know i can. but when i take the real one i should be ready to go. Thanks!
