I just got done writing it, and looking at it now, it seems that I have only talked about one topic. I'm not sure if I did this right, so I need some people to take a look at it. Thanks a lot.

Btw, I have a question. Does Rutgers only look at your essay for scholorship purposes, or can it affect whether you get accepted or not?

If your going to write about "one" topic, make it interesting...not the usual "What I like about Rutgers crap". Just write from the heart..simple.I would set up an interview,so that someone knows your face.I think the thing you need to worry the most about is your grades.Rutgers..regardless of what all these fountains of misinformation write..has really set the bar high for acceptance. It has been very difficult even for the best students to get in.Is it a result of the football team's past success?( as you can see I said past). Most people on here like to convince others that that is the case. The truth of the matter is is that the University and faculty over the last 2 years have been annoyed at the "rep" Rutgers has gotten the last decade as the "safety school for disgruntled ivy rejects".With that said,Rutgers has raised the bar to bring back what it is suppose to be...a public ivy institution. If you want, email me your essay at rutgers.envirodesign@yahoo.com.I am not an English major by the way( Environmental Sciences at SEBS).....I will try to give you my honest opinion.

"past success"? Hey, they won this past Saturday, lol. They still suck :(

But, I don't know if they look at the essay for scholarship purposes, nor that I think it will affect your acceptance (unlesss you wrote a "half-assed, I really didn't care" essay).

Just write something interesting about yourself (avoid any of those success stories of being a top student or helping out in a third world country -- no cliches). Heck, I wrote about something as simple as marching band.

My transfer essay was just a personal essay

I just spoke about my family, work, hobbies, and I explained my biggest regret being not applying myself in HS and how community college has given me a much stronger work ethic and base to build from
