help me!!

<p>in my sat score report, it says
Writing: 650
multiple choice: 64
essay: 9</p>

<p>what is that 64 supposed to represent?
Also, how important is the essay section? I am writing the SAT in October and if the essay part isn't that important, I'd rather focus more on the m/c part. Is the essay part worth it? It's so hard to get past 10. :(
Thank you.</p>

<p>This is why you read the "understanding your score report" section of your score report.</p>

<p>"The raw scores for the multiple-choice writing section are converted to scaled scores that are reported on a 20-80 scale."</p>

<p>64 is more or less your multiple choice score out of 80. I'd focus more on the multiple choice. It's easier to bring up. As a point of comparison, I've got 690 with 62 multiple choice and 12 on the essay.</p>

<p>thanx guys.
One more question, for the m/c section, i have a raw score of 42. In the blue book conversion table, the scaled score for this raw score is 66-76. So, how come I have 64 as my scaled score? Is it because of the curve?
Thanks.</p>
