importance of writing section

<p>Hi,</p>

<p>I took the SAT this year and am mostly satisfied (800 math/760 critical reading/720 writing). Do you think it is worth retaking writing? I only missed one multiple choice, got an 8 essay although if my essay jumps up I might raise my score. But it costs money and takes 3 hours, so if there's no big reason to, I don't really want to retake it. Do colleges care a lot about the writing section?</p>

<p>You’re good with above 700 in writing. I had identical scores to you except with 680 in writing, and a retook just for the look of 700+ in each section (and because my guidance counselor advised me to.)
Colleges won’t reject you because of that writing score, that’s for sure.</p>
