Hey guys. I have narrowed down it all down to Middlebury and Pomona. I want to attend a top business school after college, so that definitley needs to play a role in the decision. Which one is better for biz school/job placement, alumni network, and just overall academic experience. Tough decision. Which one is considered to be more "elite" than the other? Which would you choose? help please!!!

Wow...good choices.

I like Middlebury better personally, but that is due to where Pomona is located (not to big a fan of suburbs outside of LA). Middlebury is the more traditional experience, but both are awesome inside the classroom.

As for the other stuff...they are about on par...it just depends on what you're looking for.

Good luck.
IB

thnx for ur input!

I agree. I think there isn't a huge difference between them prestige wise or academically. I'd pick Midd in a second though. Just a personal preference.

Both are phenomenal LACS... you will get an equally good education at either... and both have excellent grad school placement.
Trying to base this decision on academics will be like splitting hairs.

But they have VERY different campus vibes... make your decision based on whether you prefer New England rural versus SoCal suburban.

If you already have a pair of mittens, Middlebury.

I believe Pomona has more prestige. Plus it's a warmer climate :)

their rep scores are equal in U.S. News. If you'd like to live on the East Coast when you graduate (Boston, New York, Philly, DC), then Midd might be the better choice. If you think you might end up on the West Coast (LA, San Fran, Seattle), then Pomona might be the better choice--although both are well respected nationwide.

definitely agree with arcadia- if you plan on working on the east coast, you should go to middlebury. if you plan on working on the west coast, pomona would be better. if you plan on working in the midwest....then i cant help you!

Yup, it's an E coast W coast thing. Each is barely known on the other coast. HeaDded for a top B school, I'd choose Mid for the best NYC jobs after undergrad.

Both great choices, but I think Pomona has the edge. The 5-college consortium adds an element of diversity and interest that would keep it from ever being too small and insular. According to their website, the majority of their grads go into business of some kind. But Midd kids do very well, too. I just think the four years at Pomona would be more fun.

THANK YOU GUYS for all ur help! The east coast vs. west coast thing is something I didn't really consider in terms of job/grad school placement! But I really needed to! Now the choice has become apparent, Pomona! I've been taking chinese courses for a couple years and want a job that deals with China. So the west coast/pacific rim it is! I really appreciate all the help guys!!!!

not to muddy your decision--but Midd has an excellent Chinese program, and schools abroad in China (not to mention the new affiliation with MIIS)

Middlebury is excellent in languages and has a beautiful campus.
