Hi! I took the ACT last December and got a 24 C w/ E-28 M-17 R-28 S-21… Since then I worked to improve my scores and increased to a 28 C w/ E-33 M-24 R-29 S-25.
But here’s my dilemma: I really want to get a +30 the next time I take it (June 10th) but I’m not sure how to improve my scores higher. I would like to know how to make my Math and Science significantly higher. But, here are my goals below:
Composite-30
English-33
Math-26
Reading-31
Science-29
That being said, I would seriously appreciate any and all help in the immediate future!
Do a full timed practice test every weekend. Go through the answers for those you have missed.
Science - Practice, Practice, Practice. You just have to see a lot of questions.
Math - Review old concepts that you learned in school. Do a lot of practices as well.
Reading - Do a timed test.
Really, it’s about taking tests over and over again. You need to also take time to go over the answer, like billcsho said.
There was a girl who went from a 28 to a 36 in two months by taking 3-5 full length practice tests a week and reviewing the wrong answers and reviewing old concepts. If you want to improve your score, you have to be diligent about it. Take as many practice tests as possible and as you’re taking you will see where you are failing. I can never finish the science section so this week I’m taking a practice science section every single morning until I can finish every passage and score in the 30s.
I’ve raised my score from a 30 to a 34 (reaching for that 35 now) within the past month by taking a section test every day. Now I have 1 week to go and I am taking a full practice test every day. PM me for a list of official past ACTs cause I don’t think I’m allowed to post a link. Just practice practice practice.
