Hey,
Im a freshman at WUSTL and am trying to help my bro in his college search. He needs a relatively small to medium school (approx. 5-10k kids) He also wants to stay in a warm climater so preferably we want to stay in the bottom half of the country and per my parents requirements he is only allowed to look at schools in the eastern half of the country. Now he also needs a school where he can flex his social muscles but hopefully only on the weekends w/ a few fun thursdays thrown in. Now to his stats:

SAT=1100 (490 Verbal, 610 math)
GPA: Unweighted 3.4 at an average public school
EC's:Varsity Wrestler on a state champion team (Captain of the JV team), Steering committe rep, Teaches at a religious school, Nat'l honor society member, FBLA member

I'm not too well versed w/ the tier of schools he's applying so I'm looking for some potentional school to look into that fit teh parameters. THANKS!!!

Catholic U, U South Carolina Columbia, Florida State, East Carolina, George Mason, Florida Tech, U North Carolina Greensboro, Virginia Commonwealth, Hollins, Millsaps, Randolph Macon

Does your brother want to wrestle in college? If he is a strong wrestler, that may help him get into a Div III school where his academic record alone would see him rejected. Most of these schools have 1500-3000 students.

The southeastern US is not a hotbed of wrestling. What about southern Iowa <grin>. . .that state seems to be hq for Div III wrestling and both Coe and Luther would be good choices there. Wheaton College (IL) might be a good choice for him, too, though his SATs are a bit light for them. I think Trinity University placed a couple of athletes in the recent Div II tourney and that is south (Texas) but not southeast.</grin>

Regardless, have your brother do what he can to bring those SAT scores up a bit - analyze the first ones, use prep books etc.
