I have narrowed down my choices to University of Richmond, University of Michigan, and University of South Carolina Honors College. Assuming I gain acceptance to all three, they each have their ups and downs. I plan on majoring in international business with minors in Mandarin and Spanish. USC is ranked #1 for international business and has the supposed #1 honors college in the country, and I am pretty sure I gain receive a large scholarship. Michigan is Michigan, a fantastic business program, but it is also pretty expensive and they rarely give OOS scholarships (I'm from Pennsylvania). Finally, Richmond is a great LAC and is a small school with high prestige, and also a fantastic international business program (Ranked #2) and a great business school. While it is expensive, I have a chance at money more than michigan, but still probably not a large scholarship if one. If anyone has any helpful hints or insight on evaluating my choices further, I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks very much!

Why don’t you decide when you get your offers and can compare costs. Probably this and probably that is waste of time.

First see where you get in. Then if money is a big issue, then the finances may make the choice very clear (or at least eliminate one option). If money is not the deciding factor, then you can consider the environment where you want to spend the next four years. In that case I’d say your best option would be to re-visit your top choices, spend a lot of time on campus, and see where you want to go. There is a big difference between a LAC and a state flagship – one is not better than the other, but they are different. Lastly, UM does not take many preferred admits to the business school so you’d likely have to go and then apply to Ross after one year which is a negative in my opinion (I know two people who went to UM and then didn’t get into Ross).
