I got a 222 on the PSAT and I'm in NJ. Do you guys think I will get National Merit?

The 2 highest are Maryland (223 I believe) and Massachusetts (224), so yeah a 222 in New Jersey will get you in, with about 99.9% certainty.

really? im nervous..
bump

bumppppppp

you still have a really long time to wait.
are you going to keep bumpin the thread till then?
A 222 in NJ should get it for you.
you can also search and find threads talking about other years.

sorry i just really want some opinions. i've heard conflicting reports about last yr. though, from 221-224?!! i know my score could get in but also might not. so guys, plz. tell me what u think!

I think not. Last year NJ was 223 and they always seem to go up and up. I'm sorry. I know it was about one more right answer away for you. My DD got 220 and she's in about the same boat as you.

Congrats on your high score, though. Most kids would be thrilled!

a 222 is probably not semifinalist in nj. my senior friends who got 222 did not get it, and as wackymother says, every year there seems to be a slight increase.

sorry!

Well, you have to keep in mind that on the CB website it notes the decrease in writing scores by 3 or 4 points...that might push the general population down enough that the score requirement doesn't increase, so there's still a chance.
