should I really feel like I’m at a boarding school though?

Have you talked to a counsellor? I know you think that all your problems will be solved if you leave Bowdoin, but if you’re depressed, they won’t be. Go talk to someone.

Erin’s Dad -

My thought was that if the OP couldn’t just bail out into a Gap Year at this point, a Medical Leave could certainly be arranged - in particular as the overall tone of the posts strike me as indicating psycho/emotional issues. Not a Dr. here, just a cranky mom. And I certainly don’t think that we should be insisting that our medical professionals write prescriptions for whatever we want whenever we want it. But I do believe in using the best tools for getting the job done, and if walking into his/her physician’s office will get the OP headed in the best direction for his/her future, then that is something he/she should do.

No, you should feel like you’re 20 and capable of making a best decision. It won’t do, to carry the conversation on here. You have to find the maturitiy to make a choice. It’s not maturitiy to throw out comments that you didnt love Tufts, got worse finaid, have no academic justification for moving on, but had a fun evening with a friend, in Boston.

If you were my kid, I’d be pretty annoyed- and yes, worried. You said this decision had to be made three days ago. I don’t know if this is a serious thread.

ps. dorms open at Bowdoin today, convocation is tomorrow. Orientation at Tufts starts tomorrow and upperclassmen return on Sunday. At Tufts, bills for fall semester were due by the first week of August.

Thanks…As if I didn’t already know that… I move in somewhere tomorrow

^ What did you decide to do, Bowdoin or Tufts?

…

unfortunately bowdoin :(
