Help needed finding the right environmental degree

Hi everyone, I have an interest in the environmental field and am looking to getting a degree in that field, but I have some concerns. First off, a big part of the reason I want to get an environmental degree is because I want to start my own businesses in the future. Im sure alot of these will be environmental based, so it would be nice to have an environmental degree as credibility. For example, starting a forum and then listing my degree as credibility.

Also, I think it would be cool to learn about the environmental field in a broad sense: design, ecology, etc, but its very important to me that the degree I get is a B.S. and not a B.A., because I think a B.S. looks better, which im sure many of you agree with.

Ok, so here's some more qualities im looking for in the degree:
broad, or somewhat broad
not too much biological sciences (I prefer engineering and math sciences)
would still be able to use the degree as credibility in natural sciences area
Decent job outlook for degree (this is what is pushing me away from the classic environmental studies degree)

BTW, I live in SoCal, so im willing to relocate for school, but hopefully not anything on the opposite side of the country :)

Thanks for your time everyone!

BS in geology is extremely useful in the environmental field, along with other certifications

Here’s one option:

Get a BS degree in Environmental Engineering, then work towards a PE license. Once you have that license, you could start a consulting company.

What types of businesses would you like to start?

environmental engineering. some schools will let you minor in chemistry, or biology, ecology if your still into that.
