Sooo, i was just looking at the different threads about what we need for bct and the only thing that i saw that wasnt on any of the official checklists that i have is the social security card…i know my number, i think its on my passport (which is the id that im bringing in) but since its not in the instructions to apointees (at least i didnt see it)i dont have it with me…Basically im already sort of on my way to the academy (visiting family on the way) and i really dont think i have a way to get it. Is this a very bad thing? Im very scared that im going to get there and not have something that i need. Ahhh…

You should be ok without it, as long as you have your passport or birth certificate. I wouldn't fret over it TOO much.

haha ok.....

I'm just bringing it to be on the safe side.

If you want, you can fill out the SS5 form on the social security website (www.ssa.gov) and take it to your local social security office and be issued a card.

Yeah, and since you are already "on the way to the Academy", you can just check where the nearest SS Office is online or by calling them, but leave a good hour or two in your schedule for it. They'll give you this paper afterwards that says everything your card will say (b/c your card doesn't come in the mail for like two weeks), and you can use that in place of your card until it comes in (That's what I am using on I-Day because I would be the idiot that loses their card the week before I-Day). But all of this is kind of a waste of time right now because you have a passport (it's not expired right?) and a Birth Certificate. It's just if you really, really want it right now. But I would advise you to get your parents to "order" a new card because eventually your going to need one. And also, on I-Day, they just want to check and make sure that your Social is your social and your are who you say you are, so a passport and bc are good enough...
