Son just called in a panic! He said he was given a list of the items that are needed for in prosessing. He was concerned that he did NOT have his SS card with him. I told him not to panic. He does have his birth certificate and his passport. His passport does not have his SS# on it. Do you think I will need to overnight his SS card?

At least he ended his call with “I love you Mom” :)

Dont worry. If he needs it, they will make a call. He wont be able to check mail for a few days anyways.

Thanks! I couldn't send it to his P.O. Box anyway.

There were a lot of cadets with no SS cards. One of the officers said they were able to make other arrangements, so I guess that means don't worry about it. I don't know exactly why my son took his, but I don't think it was on the checklist.

I double checked the list of need items before son left because I thought is was in the bank's safety deposit box. I could not find any request for it. As it turns out, after son called in (slight) panic, I checked the locked fire box at our home and found his SS card. Go figure, I could have avoided son's concern. The good part was I got to hear is voice one more time before BCT.
:) :)
