So right now I am currently at a community college as a first year and I am studying psychology. I am enrolled into a college algebra course and I am struggling with it. Now, for my major I need statistics as a requirement. What happens if I were to fail the college algebra course? Do I need to retake it or just move on? I am so lost
Is the College Algebra course a prerequisite for the Statistics class? If not, then see if there is still time to withdraw from the course instead of receiving a low grade. If it is too late, talk to the teacher to see if s/he can withdraw you. Then, take Statistics instead next session.
If College Algebra is a prerequisite for the Statistics class (I doubt it), then you have to decide if you want to stick with it and rededicate yourself to do your best, or withdraw and try again.
No it’s not intermediate algebra is, but I took that in high school. I didn’t want to retake it but I wasn’t ready statistics though. But thank you
@erinxo1014 Why don’t you seek tutoring at your CC for the algebra class? As for Statistics, if you are concerned that you will have difficulties, check and see if your community college offer a SI (Supplemental Instruction) Statistics class. A Supplemental Instruction Statistics class will have tutoring as a part of the class (and the class will be listed on transcriptions as simply Statistics).
