So I've received my last letter today (technically online) so I am now ready to settle down and make choices. I intend to major in finance if offered, if not Economics/Mathematics. Basically, I want to ultimately get that MBA degree at a top tiered b-school. But that's four years away, therefore out of sight at the moment.

So far I've gotten into:

University of Chicago
University of Texas - Austin (Cockrell School of Engineering)
University of Virginia
Southern Methodist University (as Cox BBA scholar)
University of California, Irvine
University of North Carolina
Villanova University (into their school of Business)

I'm still waiting on (not entirely):

Tulane U
Notre Dame

Assume money is put aside, what is your input as to which school presents itself as the best potential for me?

I'm leaning Chicago at the moment because of the money they are offering me (leaves me with about 10k per year to pay) but I'm still undecided because of the 'possibilities' of the other schools I've gotten into. I haven't gotten financial aid from any other school at the moment either.

assuming you want to partake in the business program at uva, its a whole other application process your sophomore year to get into the school of buisiness. that said, its a really great business program. i dont know if that amount of effort puts you off on goin there, where as at a school like notre dame, you can choose whatever scool within the college you want if youve been accepted, no questions asked.

The University of Chicago. It is by far the most prestigious and most academically rigorous school on your list, and it offers a great undergraduate experience. Plus, they’ve offered you some $$$.

It’s hard not to consider money, when even you are leaning towards one school because of money…That said, I’d still say UChicago. Can you come up with the $10k? If not, wait to see what the others do.

Most regulars on CC would hyperventilate at the thought of the U. of Chicago at $10,000 a year. You’ve got some other great acceptances, but it’s going to take something really spectacular to beat that.
