Help on Sophmore Year Schedule

Hi Im currently a freshmen in highschool and this is my schedule:

  1. Honors Geometry
  2. AP Human Geography
  3. Honors Biology
  4. English 9 Honors
  5. Drawing & Painting (I was sorta forced into this)
  6. Spanish 3 Honors
  7. Health 9 (first semester)
  8. Gym 9 (second semester)
Health and Gym are mandatory at my school for all freshmen and sophmores.

For Sophmore year I want to show progression but I also don’t want to overwhelm myself. I struggle in Honors Geometry but my grade isn’t bad, it’s a B. And I also struggle a little bit in Honors Biology but my grade is an A. For Sophmore year this is what I have planned so far:

  1. Health 10
  2. Gym 10
  3. English 10 Honors
  4. Chemistry Honors
  5. Spanish 4 Honors
  6. Algebra 2 Honors
  7. AP World History
Now like I said I wanna show progression so I wanna take AP Psychology as an elective (it’s a full year course). But I don’t wanna overwhelm myself so I’m also thinking about taking Personal Finance. I can’t decide between the 2. Also right now (freshmen year) I’m in the cardio club which meets after school Tuesdays and Thursday, InterACT (volunteer/community service club), MYLC (deals with assult, rape, bullying, etc…), and the book club. I also plan to join the lacrosse team in the spring. For sophmore year I plan to continue MYLC, InterACT, and cardio club. I’m not going to continue the book club. I also plan to continue lacrosse sophmore year. So with all my extracuricular involved should I take AP Psychology or Personal Finance?

Did you do well in APHG? I assume you did since you didn’t mention it. From what I hear, AP Psych is considered one of the easiest APs and APWH isn’t too bad either. Sounds like your a english/social studies person anyways, so I think taking AP Psych would make for a good schedule for you!

I had a B first quarter and now I have an A, honestly in most of my classes I’m just lazy but I would get all straight As if I wasnt lazy. And YES I am an English and Social Studies person lol so thank u so much! Ya I think I’m gonna take AP Psychology cuz I really do wanna show progression. Thank u again!

AP Psych is very much a memorization kind of test; if you understand the vocabulary and are able to apply it to situations, you can easily attain a 4 or 5. I would definitely recommend taking it, ECs aside.

Thank u so much!

AP Psychology is an easy course and test (67% is multiple choice and the extended response had only 2 questions). Take it as a sophomore and have it done early.
