Help, our school has strange grading system

Hi GUys,

I'm an international student, and our school gives number grades. However, due to the low average, the official rule is
A = 80-100
B = 70-79
C = 60-69....etc

I transfered school after this one, so this is only 1year of my high school.
My question is, the grade report is all in nunmbers, and at the VERY bottom there's a little box explaining the conversion.
Is it possible the admissions officers, b/c they have to read thousands of apps, dont catch that little box?
What should I do to prevent this?

Another option is ask my former high school to give out letter-grade reports, but I have a lot of 79.5 averages that shows on the transcript; but if I ask for letter grade it'll only show B instead of 79.5. I was hoping the 79.5 can let admissions officers know that it's basically an A, but I'm afraid they dont catch that box

What do u guys think?

bump?
10chars

If it was an official rule, they'd call it an A.

Regardless of how "tough" your school is, most US colleges will consider an 80 a B (or even B-).

Yeah at my school that's a C, so I don't know how much luck you'll have.

there is an official rule; a little box-chart sorta thing at the bottom of the grade report.
But since admissions officers have so many apps to read...i'm afraid they might glance past it....

I thought the colleges would recalculate your GPA according to their own models. Good Luck anyway.

almost like the Ontario system..

I suggest you email the admission office of each college you're interested in and ask them yourself... that would be the best thing to do for this question.

or just put a little sticky note somewhere on your application reminding them of the box you mentioned.
