Help out a confused freshman, please?

As of now I'm going to be majoring in Mechanical Engineering, but I really don't know that this is what I want to do. I want to try out other classes to see what else interests me, so I'm planning on taking Econ 1 first semester and one another class to 'explore' different areas..so I was thinking of Environmental Design 1, but is this an informative/worthwhile class? The description seems pretty vague.

Or do you have any other suggestions of really good, introductory classes that you've taken? I'm also interested in taking Neurobiology but if that doesn't interest me I feel like it's a waste for doing so much work for a class I don't even need to do for my major...

I'd love any opinions :)

i am completely on the same boat. haha.

never took it myself, but i always wanted to see what cog sci 1 is all about. i know quite a few eecs majors who really find interest in cog sci because of its dabbling of a more practical, human-interaction aspect to cs.

Look at your schedule, and planned schedule, carefully, see how many classes you can sit in your first week, to see if they catch your interest. Spend an hour or two in the bookstore and look at the readings for courses. See what might catch your interest. Be open.
