Help out a Latin scholar...level scheduling issue?

Hello, rising senior here seeking scheduling advice.

i am currently finishing up ap latin and am debating whether or not to take latin iv(usually taken prior to ap) next year. my school’s latin iv curriculum does not overlap with/is not strictly prep work for the ap class, but the courseload is definitely easier than ap latin. i do enjoy the language very much and would love to continue taking it as a class in school(teacher is also awesome). but i don’t know how the scheduling would affect my chances in college apps(i am essentially scheduling down a level in one of my strongest subjects aka appearing unrigorous??)

a poor analogy would be how would a college judge someone who chose to take chem 2 after completing ap chem (but they won’t be bored/feel unchallenged b/c they’d learn new chem stuff that somehow wasn’t taught in the ap course) except its latin and completely different

a second question would be that, if i were to take latin iv next year, is it worth it/how to explain to colleges the curriculum and level of latin at my school?

If they ask, explain that the material isn’t really connected and that you took it out of the love for Latin (and the teacher). You wanted to further your learning

Can you take Latin VI? I’m assuming that AP Latin at your school is equivalent to Latin V, so why not see if you can take Latin VI or some higher level of latin? I would not suggest dropping down a level; I think that it will look like you’re not challenging yourself enough, and if latin is an easy subject for you, this will be even more confusing to college admissions

thanks for the feedback but sorry for the lack of clarification. @penn2021 ap latin is the highest level of latin at my school and i will not likely find a latin vi/college latin course to take conveniently

akfdojpaodsij’ it feels really awful to be dropping my favorite class to make my transcript look more appealing
