conflict in foreign language scheduling?

Hello! im currently a rising junior in a scheduling predicament. So my Calculus and my Latin III class are in conflict with each other. I should be taking Calculus because it is a math requirement and I will pursue science in college, so i can't drop Calculus for Latin. I talked to my guidance conselor and I have the opportunity of replacing Latin for another AP : Chemistry or Statistics. I am leaning towards Statistics because I will be taking two other AP sciences and it will help for my research projects. Also I will probably be independently studying Latin III and meeting with my Latin each every week to receive assignments, that way I can take Latin IV senior year. This won't show up on my transcript though.

However, I read that most selective schools require four years of one language, will I be put in a significant disadvantage? Also, are there any free ways to study Latin III online? I looked at Edx and Coursera but there werent any Latin classes.

If you keep up with Latin and take Latin IV next year, you’re covered. Can’t help with online resources unfortunately.

most colleges care about the level reached, not the actual number of years, so as skieurope said, you’ll be fine.

If you take Latin 3 or 4 as a senior, it will show up in your self-reported senior year course work when you apply to colleges. Colleges that ask for midyear reports will see your first semester senior grades.
