Help out with GPA please

This might be the wrong section but please, help out. Is the unweighted GPA scale:
A-4
B-3
C-2
D-1
F-0

OR Do AP classes give an extra point towards the UNWEIGHTED GPA?? so:
A-5
B-4
C-3
D-2
F-1

Or does it not matter whether it is an AP or normal course, an "A" is a 4 no matter what. IN which case, it is the first scale I put up.

Weighted GPA (AP, Honors, Advanced Courses):
A - 5
B - 4
C - 3
D - 1
F - 0

Unweighted GPA (Regular):
A - 4
B - 3
C - 2
D - 1
F - 0

@JustNeedAnswers Kawaii is right.

The UW GPA calculation Kawaii gave you is correct. Weighted GPA only applies if your HS uses it, and THEY decide what weight Honors and AP get.

It depends on your school, they all use different systems.

Above is correct–every high school has its own system. I know at my kids’ school, the weighting was less significant than what Kawaiii describes, and honors classes were weighted less than AP classes, since the latter were considered more demanding. In any case, this is a simple question that a guidance counselor at the school can answer.
