OPs situation reminds me of myself four years ago when my mom wanted me to major major in fashion designing while I wanted to major in Physics. She thought I would be miserable as a physics major and thought fashion designing was the best for me since it is “feminine” and I am good at drawing. These suggestions included threats to not fund my education but I stood strictly behind my decision and went on to major in Physics, and later double major in Physics/Electrical engineering. I also assured my mom that I will work as an engineer for a while and then can always pursue fashion designing as a side interest.
I just graduated two months ago and my mom is happier than ever. Sometimes I belive all you need to do is to just go ahead with your decision and other people will understand. In my case my mom wasn’t allowed to persuade her interests in college (her parents forced her into medical school) so she thought she was doing me a favour by forcing me to do something she assumed I like.

It looks like your parents are approaching this wrong. Senior year, I got two offers for full time employment. One of them requested a hospitality degree with a focus in restaurant management; the other requested math, engineering, computer science, or business. My major was political science. Just because a job listing says something, that doesn’t mean that the company would ignore people who have different backgrounds.

Instead of looking at majors companies are seeking, look at jobs people got with different majors. That will help your case mightily!
