well…decisions are mostly out and it’s time to make decisions…
honestly i have no idea where i want to go and i have some doubts…i was accepted into 4 main colleges that i’m considering…im a engineering major except for penn where i was accepted into the jerome fisher…ive only visited michigan and will make visits soon

Michigan - Engineering is top 5…complete college experience…ive been a michigan fan my whole life and really looked forward to the football games and overall environment…

Duke - Biomedical engineering is up there, seems to be more of a “prestigious academic school” than michigan but still maintains a lively college atmosphere with basketball and all

Princeton - Honestly, I dont know much about it…engineering is solid but not as great as michigan’s…the institution as a whole is excellent…i think i may be attracted to princeton more because of the prestige and name…heard the campus is absolutely beautiful

Penn - this is the leader right now…got into Jerome Fisher…honestly im very intimidated by the workload…im excited to take on the challenge yet im afraid it mite draw away from my complete college experience…which is something i really want in teh next 4 years

any advice? anything…i know much cannot be determined until i visit…

I would definitely go with Princeton.
My sister's at Princeton and she told me the engineering there was real good. You get personel attention from these great Nobel laureates and stuff like that.
go Princeton.

I have a similar issue...
I got into Michigan (full tuition + room/board), Yale, Duke and UPenn's Vagelos LSM Program.
I'm not sure where to go. UPenn is looking like my top choice too, but I don't want to write off Yale right away, considering the brand name and all....

Michigan's bio department isn't particularly great (my parents have told me money doesn't matter too much)
Duke is southern, and though the weather is simply beautiful, I don't know if I want to head so far from home (New England) when I have equally good options that are closer.

So I'm trying to decide between Yale and UPenn. Suggestions have swung both ways...so I'm going to visit both again and see what happens.

I'm likely to choose UPenn over Yale because in the LSM program I'm more likely to get personal attention, I think. But Princeton functions a bit like an LAC, so I think that's almost irrelevant...

I probably didn't help much...but that's probably because I have the same problem.

JKFisher program, without a doubt. Increadibly strong program. Also, I have many friends from that program who go out and socialize, so it will not detract very much from an overall college experience.

Thanks for all ur input...i wasnt going biomedical at michigan...but i think i mite rule out michigan cuz i got NO money lol...

Penn...program definately is impressive so im pretty convinced..
Princeton...i dont know...looks like a great overall undergrad experience

I would accept the Jerome Fisher offer in a blink. It is excellent, but that's if you're interested in combining business and engineering. If you're not sure about the whole Wharton-thing, then go to Princeton.

princeton would be too much work for me. fluffy penn is what i need.

not that i would have ever gotten into princeton or Penn Rd, god bless the ed

that was not intended to rhyme*

Judas:

If I hadn't gotten money from Michigan, I would have ruled it out in an instant. It doesn't really compare to the others....but then again, I'm not in engineering. And I'm not sure where Michigan engineering falls in relation to these other schools.

I agree with lipgloss on the Jerome Fisher program. If you want to combine engineering with business, you can't really beat Wharton for that. If you end up choosing a school other than Penn, would you still pursue some combination of engineering and economics/business? I think that's important to figure out. I know for sure wherever I end up, I'll be doing both biochem and economics, so Vagelos is perfect for me...

i think i definately would pursue that route....so i guess jerome fisher is the way
