Help Please!

Hey guys!

What happens if I skip the first and second day of the Freshman Summer Session? Will it be hard to catch up? I'm asking this because I'm coming from overseas and is planning on attending the CalSo on June 22-23 which means i'll have to miss the first two days of the summer session.

Thanks in advance

For a lot of classes they will drop you from the course if you do not attend the first day.

yea…you might consider rescheduling your calso…or go to your class first and catch up with the calso group later (when i went some kids were also in summer school and that’s what they pretty much had to do) Attending SS on the first day is definitely a bit more important than Calso on the first day.

thanks for the advices.

I’m considering the following classes for Phase I

French 1 (5 units)
Ugba 010 (3 units)
Econ 1 (4 units)
Freshman Seminar

would these classes be filled up quickly if i go at a later date? also, is the course load advisable for an intended business major freshman? (:

i am pretty sure ugba, econ, and (maybe) the frosh seminar are populr and encourage attendance the first day.

what’s the workload if I’m planning to take the classes i listed above in my first semester? I’m aiming for a high gpa and a reasonable amount of social life. =)

fabxx - you can sign up for no more than 10.5 units in phase I - not all the courses you listed. Many recommend taking a load of about 13 units your first semester, although there are minority opinions that assert you should hammer away right from the beginning.

CalSO will walk you through a number of course sequences yoiu need to consider. Breadth courses, history, american cultures, reading comprehension, pre-reqs for your major . . . often this determines a good percentage of your schedule.
