Help! Pratt vs SVA vs Ringling

So I have narrowed down my colleges to either Pratt, SVA, or Ringling. I was also accepted to SCAD, SAIC, and PNCA. I am flip flopping between a 2D animation and illustration major right now, so I want a school with strong programs in one or both of these majors. I would also like to pursue a double major/minor in creative writing if possible. Also, things like location, campus, housing, etc are super important to me!! Here are the stats:

SVA
-in New York City
-single dorm option
-strong illustration program, eh animation program
-sucky campus (imo)
-approx $12K a year in loans
-no creative writing

Pratt
-in Brooklyn
-single not guaranteed (housing is kind of dinky)
-good digital arts program, good illustration program
-GORGEOUS campus
-approx $8K a year in loans
-creative writing minor

Ringling
-in Sarasota, Florida
-single not guaranteed (nice housing in general tho)
-I was admitted to the CA program, but I don’t think I’m into that anymore so I will want to transfer to their illustration program, which is also v good. I think their programs are probably strongest of these three?
-pretty campus! I’m visiting on Apr 20th so I’ll know more then
-approx $12K a year in loans
-creative writing minor

I have heard that SVA and Ringling have different philosophies on art. Ringling is more “job placement” whereas SVA is more “let’s see where your art takes you”. Pratt is I guess like “get good at art”? Idk. Please help!!

Hi! I am also in between Pratt and SVA (I’m a comd major though) I think it depends what your major is and what you want from a campus, but seems that Pratt fills out most of what you’re looking for! I’ve heard great stuff about all 3 schools so I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them

Have you gone to their accepted students days?

@334455 Ahh I see. Ironically enough, Pratt is looking like #3 right now. And I have not gone to any of them haha, mostly because I live way out in Arizona, but also because my parents and I feel like they “put on a show” for the new students if you know what I mean. I want an authentic idea of what it’s like at tje schools
