So I applied to transfer to columbia, duke, georgetown, cornell, and unc-ch, and was rejected by all bu unc-ch. Obviously, this whole process has been painful, and in hindsight, i dove into my applications with little to no knowledge of what admissions officers were looking for. The sore thumb of my applicatios were my essays: they were well written but too vague, and lacking in school specific connection. I have a lot of regrets now, of course, and i do plan on enrolling at unc-ch this coming fall…my question is, should i apply to transfer to cornell/georgetown again for spring 2019? I just feel really remiss that my applications were not as strong as they could’ve been, and i feel that this time around, i actually know what i’m doing. If i were to reapply for spring 2019 admission, I would definitely enlist the help of professional college advisors, and personalize my applications for each school. I know that this decision would likely increase my time in college, but i just feel this intense need to go to a school that is right for me. What do you all think?
FYI- I plan on going to graduate school, so I’m well aware that i would have to explain transferring universities twice. I just feel like a great education and the program that i want to transfer into is worth it. maybe i’m being crazy
