HELP! removal of substandard grade?! UC transfer!

so its time for the transfer academic update, and i want to submit it as quick as possible. but i dont know what to do about the D i received in spring 2012 for statistics. i re-took the class this fall 2012 semester and passed with a B.
i quickly submitted a "removal of substandard grade" petition at my CC. and they approved it, subsequently my GPA on my transcript rose (yay!) BUT, does this even count for a UC?
would they still look at my D i received and count it towards my cumulative GPA?!
this is really worrying me a lot since the removal of the D rose my GPA to a number that i'm comfortable with, but prior to the removal, my GPA really bothered me and discouraged me from being accepted anywhere.
i dont qualify for AR because my CC has a rule where two years has to pass for them to give me an AR. which is stupid cause that was the only semester i messed up since i was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and had to withdraw from all but one my classes. but stupid me thought i could handle stats and muster at least a C. what a fail that was....
anyway, can anyone give me any advice or help? would i be able to address this issue on my transfer academic update? thanks!

The “D” you received will be disregarded when they calculate your GPA. You still have to list the “D”, but since your repeated the course for a passing grade, the substandard grade is thrown out. Don’t worry.

There was actually no reason to even have it removed. The new grade would have superseded the old grade.

Make sure that you report your D grade if its currently on your transcript. Admissions is very clear about accurately reporting your grades throughout the UC application process. I wouldn’t worry about it though, they will see that you have retaken the course and received a B and disregard your previous grade. If you are super nervous about it, talk a UC admissions before you submit your update.

okay. i see. thanks everyone. i dont feel as nervous or bad anymore! good luck to you all. :)
