Help selecting a college

I haven't even decided on what I want to major in yet but I am leaning towards maybe political science, right now politics interests me so much.

I am a senior in high school, not sure what my gpa is but most likely around 3.5. I got a 30 on the ACT and not sure on my SAT, is the SAT important if I got a 30 on the ACT? I will go back and check my transcript.

Anyways, in the last couple of months I have muddled around, first thinking I wanted to major in forensic science or something but have changed my mind. I am taking post-secondary at the University of Findlay, I commute there every day. I am taking General Chemistry with the lab and Introduction to Psychology and in the spring will most likely take intro to sociology, film and history and maybe a college writing class to get it out of the way or global history since 1780. I always thought I would like Chemistry but my professor has totally turned me off and I have realized the field of chemistry would give me no room to express myself and the field is pretty cut and dry. I love my psychology class but I don't think I want to go to grad school. So this led to me thinking of political science because current events interest me like none other.

Anyway, on to colleges. My dad keeps telling me that probably it isn't going to matter what college I go to my first 2 years or so because of the basic classes you have to get out of the way anyways. My whole high school years I have wanted nothing more than to get out of Ohio, away from the rural setting and go to a larger city where there are more things to do. I love heavy metal/death metal and want to go someplace with a music scene, somewhere I can go to concerts often. I'm not into the whole partying thing though, I still want a college that is good for political science. I just want somewhere that offers good college life without a bunch of stuck up people, that's what I have noticed at the University of Findlay, it's a small private college and not many people there interested in things like I am.

Can anyone think of some colleges or even another major that would suit me? Also a college I have a good chance at getting into.

Vintage, If you are really interested in Poly Sci then you should consider the DC area. American U is a good match.
